Interface

Generic term for either software interfaces or hardware interfaces. A typical example for a software interface is the application programmer interface (API). Examples for hardware interfaces include the vehicle communication interface (VCI). Other terms for hardware interfaces are interface hardware, diagnostic interface, VCI hardware, and EDIC.
