It is a flexible, single channel interface that can be assigned as either CAN/CAN FD or LIN.

Description

With a standard USB connector and a single High-Speed CAN or LIN channel in one 9-pin D-SUB connector, this is a high-performance yet compact "universal interface" for automotive.

The Pro version offers advanced features such as support for CAN FD, Message Filtering, Triggers, Silent
Mode and Kvaser MagiSync automatic clock synchronization. It is capable of running user-developed applications written in the Kvaser t programming language.

  • Supports CAN bit rate from 50 kbit/s to 1 Mbit/s.
  • Supports CAN FD up to 5 Mbit/s (with proper phisical layer implementation)
  • Supports LIN 1.3 - 2.2 bit rate from 1 kbit/s to 20 kbit/s.
  • Supports both 11-bit (CAN 2.0A) and 29-bit (CAN 2.0B active) identifiers.
  • Power is taken from the USB bus. It is necessary apply a reference voltage to the LIN reference power pin when running in LIN mode.
  • Galvanic isolation
  • Silent mode.
  • Kvaser MagiSync™ provides automatic time synchronization between several PC-to-bus interfaces connected to the same PC.
  • Programming functionality to support interface mode e.g. Optimize protocol handling, pre-filter CAN messages directly on the interface, or simulate missing hardware.
  • Auto response and transmit buffers allow the device to send messages on defined events or intervals.
  • Supports both LIN master and LIN slave mode.
  • Fully compatible with J1939, CANopen, NMEA 2000 and DeviceNet.
  • Support for SocketCAN.
  • USB powered (bus V+ reference required for LIN).
  • Operating temperature range from -40 to 85 °C.

  • Documentation, software and drivers can be downloaded for free at kvaser.com/download.
  • Kvaser CANLIB SDK is a free resource that includes everything you need to develop software for the Kvaser CAN interfaces. Includes full documentation and many program samples, written in C, C++, C#, Delphi, and Visual Basic.
  • All Kvaser CAN interface boards share a common software API. Programs written for one interface type will run without modifications on the other interface types!
  • J2534 Application Programming Interface available.
  • RP1210A Application Programming Interface available.
